Professor Lotan, MScPT, PhD is a physiotherapist working as Senior lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, Department of Physical Therapy, Ariel University, Ariel, Israel. He is affiliated with the Israeli National Rett Syndrome evaluation team and has a special interest in physiotherapy of persons diagnosed with complex needs with a emphasis on individuals with Rett Syndrome. Professor Lotan has worked the last 30 years exploring and researching best practices and techniques designed to improve the physio health of individuals with complex needs. He has worked and evaluated over 500 individuals with Rett Syndrome and is passionate about improving the quality of life for those diagnosed with Rett. Professor Lotan has published numerous books and articles on physio therapy and Rett Syndrome over the past 25 years. Dr. Lotan calls for action to provide intensive therapy programs now so that maximal gains will be achievable when pharmacological treatments or a genetic cure for Rett Syndrome become available.
